I recently completed this MEP course and found it to be extremely valuable for understanding the fundamentals of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems in building design and construction.

How can i calculate the quantity of cable by using the quantity of conduit for 3 phase electrical connection based on thumb rule?
Ali Asgar Parsolawala Instructor
Hi Saru, Thanks for the question. Kindly note that for all three-phase cable will be covered inside the conduit. So linear meter of the conduits will be total linear meter of the conduits (Both steel and uPVC). Moreover, for your understanding, term used for the linear wiring for lighting and power inside the residential flats are 'POINT WIRING' and there is a thumb rule for that. 1. Point wiring for the Light fixture is 8 to 10 M i.e. Number of light fixtures * (8 to 10 M) = Wiring (3 wires) and conduits 2. Point wiring for the Power outlet is 10 to 12 M i.e. Number of power outlets * (10 to 12 M) = Wiring (3 wires) and conduits
